More information
In a noisy and fast moving world we can so easily live distracted and distanced lives which are not attentive to our inner longings, the moments and rhythms of our days, our body and the natural world around us; lives which largely miss an experience of the God who actually walks with us every moment.

We need times to slow down; to quieten our heart, mind and soul; to be still and attentive, and to listen for the sound of God walking with us and saying, in a still small voice: ‘here I am – I am with you!’

Throughout history, men have found walking to be a helpful way to do that, whether it’s a short stroll in the park or a month long pilgrimage over hundreds of kilometers. They’ve discovered that contemplative walking can actually be a rich and rewarding form of prayer and a powerful tool for the journey home to our household in God. They have discovered the rich blessing and strength of slowing down to keep pace with God, who seems to move at walking pace – a 3 mile an hour God!

The guides for the weekend are:
Jeff Lawrence is a Biblical storyteller, retreat director, spiritual director, pastor, community chaplain & a pastor’s retreat group facilitator, with a passion for men’s spirituality, wellbeing & disciplining. Jeff offers workshops on prayer, the Christian spiritual pilgrimage & the contemplative life.

Haydn works as a community chaplain in suburban Brisbane, and has taken on the work of the contemplative pilgrimage home to the heart of God. Haydn has a keen and active involvement in men’s work and spirituality.
