Mental Health First Aid Training

CFMF is pleased to be able to offer complimentary Mental Health First Aid Training to it’s volunteers.

The Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches people how to support adults dealing with mental health challenges until they can get professional help or the situation improves. Participants learn to recognize signs of common mental health issues, how to start conversations about concerns, and offer initial support and information. Completing the course makes them Mental Health First Aiders, ready to provide crucial assistance. The course offers flexible delivery options and is endorsed by Suicide Prevention Australia for its quality and effectiveness in suicide prevention.

Mental Health First Aid Training provides you with skills in four key areas:

Intervene Early

Recognise the warning signs of mental health problems in other adults.

Offer Support

Learn the skills to have an open, supportive conversation about mental health.

Respond In a Crisis

Respond across a range of crisis situations where an adult may be at risk of harm.

Reduce Stigma

Respond across a range of crisis situations where an adult may be at risk of harm.

Mental Health First Aid Training

Cost: Free for all CFMF Volunteers (Donations towards the cost of food and accommodation are welcomed)

Date: Saturday 15th March and Saturday 29th March – you must attend both sessions to get your certifcate

All meals, accommodation, training materials and sessions are included in the cost.
